Ladies and Gentlemen, June - October, 2009 I am very excited to announce the opening of my show, “Pastels of Oregon” the Works of Athena Rudd, opening June 5th at the Arts and Fair Trade Shop on G Street in Grants Pass. This collection of about 25 paintings is comprised of landscapes from my travels around our beautiful state, many of which are local scenes one can find in and around Grants Pass. I am a “plein air” artist, which means that I work primarily on location with the scene right before me as I paint landscapes in pastel. I also enjoy portrait painting, and so I will be displaying a few pastel portraits from my personal family collection to view for those interested in commissioning a portrait of their child or other family member.
